What is constipation???
Constipation is defined as a condition in which a person have a fewer than three bowels’ movements a week. It occurs when bowel movements become less frequent, and stools become difficult to pass. It affects people of all ages, and its severity varies from every individual.
>>>Constipation can also cause your stools to be hard and lumpy, as well as unusually large or small.
· Constipation happens because your colon absorbs too much water from waste (stool/poop) which dries out the stool making it hard in consistency and difficult to push out of the body.
Causes of constipation.
It is difficult to identify the causes of constipation, however, there are a few common things which contributes to the condition such:
· Dehydration- not drinking enough fluids.
· Not eating enough fiber, such as fruit, vegetables, and cereals.
· A change in your routine or lifestyle, such as a change in your eating habits
· Eating large amounts of milk or cheese
· Resisting the urge to pass the stool.
· Side effects of medication
· Depression, stress, and anxiety
Preventing and treating constipation

· Diet and lifestyle changes are usually recommended as the first treatment for constipation. This includes gradually increasing your daily intake of fiber making sure you drink plenty of fluids and trying to get more exercise.
· If these aren’t effective, your pharmacist may recommend an oral laxative medication that can help you empty your bowels.
